Important Winter Storm Information
In the continuing effort to keep our citizens informed, the Hampton Police Division will be utilizing Citizen Observer to post important information during the projected winter storm this weekend. If it becomes necessary, we will use the website to advise of any major power outages, shelters, road closures and flooding that may occur. Updates will be posted periodically, which will be received via email or text messages.
Citizen Observer is a new community notification and alerting system that is being used throughout the country. Citizen Observer makes it possible for us to be able to deliver important neighborhood specific, as well as citywide, information to our citizens in an extremely timely manner. This information is sent out using common communications methods such as cell phone text messages, emails and an online website.
